Natural-Looking Wrinkle Reduction and Facial Rejuvenation for Bay Area Patients

Botox in Fremont, CA

Expression lines are created by the facial movements you make every day. Over time, repeated frowning, smiling, squinting, and raising your eyebrows can cause these lines to remain visible even when your face is at rest. Botox® Cosmetic offers a non-surgical way to soften them by temporarily reducing activity in carefully selected muscles.

At GLOW Surgical Arts in Fremont, our cosmetic surgeon Dr. Paul Gorman and registered nurse Monica provide individualized Botox treatments for patients from across the Bay Area. We begin with an assessment of your facial anatomy, muscle movement, and aesthetic goals and tailor your treatment to ensure natural-looking results.

What Is Botox® Cosmetic?

Botox Cosmetic is an FDA-approved injectable neuromodulator made with onabotulinumtoxinA, a purified form of botulinum toxin type A. It is primarily used to treat dynamic wrinkles, which form through repeated muscle contractions involved in facial expression.

Botox reduces wrinkles by temporarily interrupting the nerve signals that tell targeted muscles to contract. As those muscles relax, the skin above them appears smoother, and expression lines become less noticeable.

What Can Botox Treat?

At GLOW Surgical Arts, we offer Botox for cosmetic and medical applications.

Cosmetic Botox

=

Forehead wrinkles and frown lines

Botox can reduce horizontal forehead lines and the vertical “11s” between the eyebrows. Careful dosing helps smooth these areas while preserving natural expression and brow movement.

=

Crow’s feet

Precise injections around the outer corners of the eyes can reduce lines caused by smiling and squinting without changing the character of your smile.

=

Platysma bands

Botox is FDA-approved to treat moderate to severe vertical bands connecting the neck and jaw. Relaxing the platysma muscle may also create a more defined transition between these areas.

=

Downturned mouth corners

Botox can be used to relax the muscles that pull the corners of the mouth downward. If you also have nasolabial folds, Botox can be paired with dermal filler injections to restore volume and provide more comprehensive rejuvenation.

=

Masseter reduction and jawline contouring

Injecting Botox into enlarged masseter muscles helps create a slimmer lower face contour. Masseter Botox can also lessen the muscle activity associated with jaw clenching or teeth grinding.

Medical Botox

We also provide Botox injections for excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, in the underarms, palms, and feet. Botox for hyperhidrosis works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that activate sweat glands.

Benefits of Botox

Botox is one of the most widely requested aesthetic treatments because it offers several practical benefits:

  • Softens dynamic facial lines without surgery
  • Allows treatment to be adjusted by area and muscle strength
  • Requires little to no interruption of normal activities
  • Produces gradual changes rather than an abrupt transformation
  • Can preserve natural expression with precise dosing and placement
  • May be combined with other non-surgical facial treatments

Am I a Candidate for Botox?

Men and women of many ages can be good candidates for Botox, from patients in their 20s and 30s who want to prevent deep expression lines to those in their 40s and beyond who want to minimize existing facial creases. Patients must be generally healthy, understand that results are temporary, and have realistic expectations.

Botox should not be administered if you have an infection at a planned injection site or are allergic to any of its ingredients. Tell your provider about all medical conditions, medications, supplements, and previous botulinum toxin treatments, as well as pregnancy or plans to become pregnant, so your provider can determine if Botox is right for you.

What to Expect During Your Botox Appointment

Botox treatments are performed at our Fremont office and usually take just 10 to 15 minutes. First, your provider will discuss your goals and evaluate your face at rest and in motion. You may be asked to frown, smile, squint, or raise your eyebrows so the muscles contributing to your concerns can be identified.

Topical numbing cream can be applied to the treatment areas to prevent discomfort. Botox is then administered with a very fine needle in a series of small injections. Most patients describe feeling a brief pinch with each one but consider the procedure relatively painless.

What to Expect After Botox Injections

Patients can return to most routine activities the same day. Small bumps, redness, or bruising can occur temporarily at the injection sites.

You will receive aftercare instructions based on the areas treated. In general, patients should avoid putting pressure on the treated areas, vigorous exercise, and exposure to intense heat for 24 to 48 hours to ensure optimal results.

When Will I See My Botox Results?

You may begin noticing initial changes within three to five days after treatment. Results typically continue to develop over the following days and weeks. The timing of your arrival at your final result depends on the area treated.

How Long Does Botox Last?

Botox results last three to four months, on average. Duration can vary between treatment areas and depending on muscle strength and activity. Appointments are commonly scheduled every three to four months to maintain consistent results.

How Much Does Botox Cost in Fremont?

The cost of Botox injections in the Bay Area generally depends on the number of units needed to accomplish your desired outcome. There is no single unit count that is right for every patient. Two patients receiving treatment in the same area may need different amounts because of differences in muscle strength, facial proportions, and the movement they want to preserve.

Your provider at GLOW Surgical Arts will explain the recommended number of units and total cost of your customized treatment before you proceed.

Why Choose GLOW Surgical Arts for Botox in Fremont?

Successful Botox treatment requires an understanding of how the muscles of the forehead, brows, eyes, lower face, and neck work together. Dosing one area without considering the surrounding muscles can affect facial balance, brow position, or expression.

At GLOW Surgical Arts, your treatment is based on how your facial muscles move—not simply a standardized number of units. Your anatomy, previous injectable experience, and desired results all inform your personalized plan.

We provide Botox treatments at our Fremont surgery center and office, which is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). Your injections will be performed by the founder of our practice, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Paul Gorman, or our registered nurse Monica. Both providers prioritize precise treatment, patient safety, and results that complement your natural features.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Botox make my face look frozen?

K
L

Not when treatment is planned conservatively and administered precisely. The goal is to reduce excessive movement in selected muscles, not eliminate every expression. Your provider will discuss how much softening you want and adjust the dose accordingly.

Is Botox safe?

K
L

Botox Cosmetic has been FDA-approved for aesthetic use since 2002 and has been extensively studied for more than two decades. It is generally considered safe when administered by a qualified medical professional.

Like all prescription medications, however, it can cause side effects. Possible effects include injection-site pain or bruising, headache, eyelid or eyebrow drooping, dry eye, and other reactions. Your provider will review your medical history, medications, contraindications, and potential risks before recommending treatment.

How many units of Botox will I need?

K
L

The number of Botox units you need depends on the treatment area, your muscle strength and anatomy, and your aesthetic goals. During your consultation at GLOW Surgical Arts, your provider will evaluate your facial movement and recommend a personalized dose designed to achieve natural-looking results.

Does Botox hurt?

K
L

Most patients describe the injections as quick pinches. Ask about available comfort measures if you are particularly sensitive to injections.

How often should I get Botox?

K
L

Many patients schedule treatment every three to four months, but the right interval for you will depend on how long your results last and when muscle activity returns.

What is the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?

K
L

Botox temporarily relaxes selected muscles to minimize dynamic wrinkles. Dermal fillers add or restore volume beneath the skin. Botox is most often used for forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, while fillers may be recommended for hollow cheeks, thin lips, or folds related to volume loss.

Can I combine Botox with other treatments?

K
L

Yes. Botox addresses wrinkles caused by muscle activity, while other treatments target different components of facial aging. Complementary non-surgical treatments available at GLOW Surgical Arts include:

  • Dermal fillers - To restore volume and soften folds caused by volume loss, including nasolabial folds.
  • Microneedling - To address concerns involving skin texture, fine lines, enlarged pores, and acne scarring.
  • Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) - To support skin renewal using a substance derived from your own blood that can be injected or applied topically.

What should I avoid after Botox?

K
L

For the first four hours or so after treatment, remain upright and avoid putting pressure on the treated areas. If your forehead or brow was treated, do not wear tight hats, headbands, goggles, or other items that press against the treatment sites until otherwise directed.

Avoid rubbing or massaging the injected areas for 12 to 24 hours, or for as long as your provider recommends. This includes postponing facials and facial massage. You’ll also want to refrain from strenuous exercise and heat exposure, including saunas, hot tubs, hot yoga, tanning beds, and direct sunlight for 24 hours.

Can Botox prevent wrinkles from becoming deeper?

K
L

Yes, by temporarily reducing the repetitive muscle activity that contributes to dynamic wrinkles, Botox can help keep these lines from becoming more pronounced. Many younger patients in their 20s and 30s opt for preventative Botox, or “baby Botox,” to maintain their youthful appearance.
