At GLOW, we are pleased to offer a variety of cosmetic body surgery options for body contouring and sculpting. Are you concerned about diet and exercise resistant fat, stretch marks, unattractive skin folds, or unappealing body proportions? We can likely help.
We perform our cosmetic body surgery using local tumescent anesthesia, supplemented as needed with prescription strength oral medications. After the procedure and a short recovery, all patients are released to home with early follow up at GLOW. We do require that patients not drive after a procedure, and recommend that all patients have a companion for assistance.
Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic body surgery procedures there is. This is particularly effective for excess fat in the stomach, flanks, inner and outer thighs, arms, and portions of the back and chest. Liposuction is performed using small instruments and tiny access sites, resulting in smooth contours and a rapid recovery.
Laser assisted liposuction, or Smartlipo, has become increasingly popular. Smartlipo involves the addition of a small but powerful laser that is used to break down fat tissue and provide a heat stimulus to the skin and subcutaneous connective tissues. Use of the Smartlipo laser can lead to less bruising and swelling, a shorter recovery, and tighter, smoother skin. While the Smartlipo can be used as an adjunct to all liposuction procedures, it is particularly effective for small treatment areas, including the chin and neck, the arms, and localized fat in the lower abdomen, flanks, and inner and outer thighs.
While liposuction can address excess fat in the stomach area, excess skin presents a separate challenge. Redundant skin folds and stretch marks are common after pregnancy or weight loss, and may best be addressed with a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty. This involves carefully excising excess skin and fatty tissues, meticulously closing the incision, and creating an attractive and smooth abdominal contour.
While taking fat out of the body is extremely common, did you know that we can put fat back in? After careful processing and handling, small or large volumes of fat can be transferred to the buttocks, breasts, hands, and face. If you are concerned about a flat, thin, or poorly shaped buttock area, you may want to consider the Brazilian Butt Lift. With this procedure, relatively large volumes of fat are used to add volume, projection, and shaping to the buttocks. What could be better than using your own natural, soft material? You also get the added benefit of fat removal from other problem areas (stomach, love handles, thighs, etc.) prior to transfer to the buttocks.
Many individuals are concerned about the appearance of their arms, with excess fat, drooping skin, and tight fitting clothes. Liposuction or Smartlipo may prove effective, but excess skin, particularly after massive weight loss, may best be treated with a skin excision procedure called a brachioplasty or arm lift. This technique involves removing some fat just prior to excising redundant skin folds on the inside of the upper arm. While a scar does form after this procedure, the smooth, snug arm contours that result are aesthetically pleasing and worth showing off!
One tell tale sign of aging is thinned out, bony appearing hands with large veins coursing under the surface. Small volume fat transfer to the hands is an excellent way to combat this condition, and is done under local anesthesia with just a few tiny instruments and access points. You will be able to enjoy the long lasting benefit of more youthful, attractive hands after this minor procedure followed by a brief recovery.
